Human body parts washed up near Rio's Olympic volleyball court

With the summer Olympic Games just weeks away, Rio de Janeiro may be in trouble.

A human foot and other body parts washed up near the Olympic beach volleyball court, the Associated Press reports. Police offered no further details.

The city has been wracked with violence as police search for an escaped drug dealer, Nicolas Labre Pereira, AKA "Fat Family." Ten people have been killed and 50 schools have been closed in the past nine days due to gun battles between police and gang members, O Globo reports.

It's far from the only security difficulty Rio faces. Last month, an off-duty bodyguard for the mayor was shot and killed in a mugging. And the governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro said he's still waiting on about $860 million that's been set aside for Olympic security, USA Today reports.

The murder toll in Rio for the first four months of the year hit 2,036, compared to 1,818 for the same period last year, officials report.
