Man attempts to set record for coldest half-naked skydive in icy Yakutia, Russia

Actions

YAKUTIA, Russia (AP) — A former Russian military officer attempted the coldest-ever half-naked skydive in the northeast part of the country Saturday.

Oleg Rezanov braved temperatures of about minus-50 degrees Celsius (minus-58 degrees Fahrenheit) and was topless during his 4,100-meter (13,451 feet) descent in Yakutia.

Prior to the tandem jump, the 46-year-old, who is known as the "Lord of Cold," held 11 records in extreme-cold activities.

The jump is being verified by Winter Records, an organization which files records in winter activities.
