Man in MAGA hat kicked out of a vigil for Christchurch

WASHINGTON (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — A young man wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat made an appearance at a vigil Monday at Toronto’s York University for the victims of the Christchurch shooting, drawing harsh criticism from those present, before being told leave.

This footage, filmed and uploaded to Twitter by Raneem Ayoub, shows the incident. Ayoub wrote that the man “showed up with a MAGA hat on purpose” and said the vigil was “meaningless” before other students made him leave.

“The man in the cap did not attend the vigil until the very ending of the event when it was being finished off with a prayer,” Ayoub said in her tweets. “During the prayer, he was arguing with the two men next to him. Everyone else at the vigil ignored him until the vigil was officially over (out of respect of the victims and the event). No one approached him and disturbed the vigil until it was finished.”

The suspect in the New Zealand massacre is affiliated with many nationalist groups, and the attack is presumed to be racially motivated. President Trump, the man behind the 'MAGA' hats, tweeted his condolences to the victims after the attack.
