This dude was caught on camera setting a fake Ferrari on fire

LAS VEGAS (CIRCA via KSNV) — Home surveillance cameras in a Las Vegas neighborhood caught a suspected arsonist lighting a Ferrari look-a-like on fire. The flames almost spread to the owner's home.

Now, arson investigators with Las Vegas Fire and Rescue are looking for the culprits.

Cameras from many different angles caught the arsonist in the act early Sunday just before 4 a.m. A passenger is seen leaving a white car parked in the neighborhood, near Sahara and Buffalo. The passenger douses a Pontiac Fiero that had been converted to look like a Ferrari.

Minutes later, you can see what appears to be a huge flash of light. Immediately, the car goes up in flames, and the suspects drive away as quickly as possible.

Owner Brad Hager saw his yellow car wrapped by flames at his front entrance.

“My car was on fire. I immediately called the fire department,” said Hager.

The house canopy above the car started to catch fire.

“Within minutes the whole place was engulfed,” Hager said. “The flames were through the roof. The carport burning out of control.”

Hager said he could not believe what he just witnessed.

"It’s devastating to know this happened. Fifteen minutes later I would be sound asleep in a bed, probably wouldn’t have heard the alert," Hager said. "The whole house would have burned. Our family would have died."

The Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Arson Team is now investigating the blaze. Investigators say they are looking at all the camera angles.

Arman Izadi, who lives next door, says it's important that the arsonist is caught soon.

“It’s something we are taking seriously,” Izadi said. “We are putting the video out on social media, so we want to find out who did this.”

Hager says he will have many sleepless nights thinking about the people responsible for setting his Fiero on fire.

“It’s very important for me and my family, so we could sleep well at night knowing this person is not in the loose,” said Hager.
