MELBOURNE, Australia (CIRCA via STORYFUL) -- Conservative independent Queensland Senator Fraser Anning was confronted at Melbourne Airport on Saturday, March 16, following anti-Muslim remarks he made in the wake of the Christchurch mosque attacks.
In this video, Melbourne man Ali Bidiri approaches Anning at the airport and asks the senator repeatedly if he felt remorse, slinging insults at him as he follows him to the gate.
On Friday, Anning was widely criticized for tweeting and issuing a press release that said “the real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program, which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison reacted on Twitter, saying the Senator’s views had “no place in Australia, let alone the Australian parliament.”
By Sunday morning, close to 800,000 people had signed a Change.org petition to remove Anning from parliament.
