HILLSBOROUGH, Calif. (CIRCA) — A house infamously dubbed “Flintstone house” in Hillsborough, California, is causing problems for people who live near the faux-Bedrock. The makeshift attraction has always bothered members of the neighborhood, but some of its newest features are causing even more of an issue.
“I don’t like the way she did the backyard; this is Hillsborough, not an amusement park,” area resident Kathy Park said to KPIX.
Some of the changes include T-Rex and Triceratops statues, and a “Yabba Dabba Doo” sign in the front driveway.
The city of Hillsborough said it is concerned about the way the new landscaping looks and whether or not it is safely constructed. Neighbor complaints led to a formal proceeding in front of the Hillsborough administrative hearing panel, which decided all the statues had to come down. However, the homeowner has yet to reply. Now, the city is filing a lawsuit to get the figures removed.
