CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CIRCA) — Hold on to your seats, because Charlotte, N.C.-based theme park Carowinds is introducing a new double-launch roller coaster called Copperhead Strike.
This is the first double-launch coaster in the Carolinas. The coaster's first launch sends riders from 0 to 42 mph in 2.5 seconds.
Copperhead Strike is inspired by the copperhead snake found in the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains.
The new coaster is set to open this spring.
