Baby dolphin set free from tangled fishing line in Florida

WASHINGTON (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — A group of marine biologists freed a bottlenose dolphin calf who was tangled in fishing line off the coast of Florida on Monday.

According to a NOAA Fisheries press release, the young dolphin had fishing line wrapped around its entire body and tail, and it was also looped through its mouth, forming what resembled a bridle.

The biologists caught both the calf and its mother, put them close together for comfort, and carefully untangled the line entrapping the calf before setting the animals free.
