DORKING, England (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — The winning couple in the 12th annual UK Wife Carrying Race were lucky that actually being married was not an entry requirement. And yet, Chris Hepworth had no sooner carried Tanisha Prince across the finish line than he proposed to her.

Video shows Hepworth get down on one knee and pop the question. Prince says yes to the proposal in front of the cheering crowd.

According to the race rules, the "wives" can be male or female; they just have to be over the age of 18 and weigh at least 50 kilograms (about 110 pounds).

Hepworth and Prince will compete in the World Wife Carrying Championships in Finland in July.

Plan your ideal wedding, and we'll reveal how many kids you'll have!
