DUBLIN (AP) — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge topped off a busy Wednesday that included soccer drills and canoe races with a stint pulling pints behind a bar in Dublin.
The royal couple received instruction on how to properly serve a pint and each gave it a try.
The evening celebration held at the Empire Music Hall honored the work of young leaders in Northern Ireland. Kate wore a shimmering metallic light green dress.
The Duke and Duchess congratulated Dame Mary Peters, former Olympian, who was in attendance. She was appointed by Her Majesty The Queen to be a Lady Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter earlier in the day.
Prince William thanked the guests for their work in helping to encourage talking openly about mental health and for delivering services to children and young people at risk. He then told the crowd that "on the assumption that the barstaff are more skilled than Catherine and I at pulling pints, I've no doubt you'll have a brilliant evening."
