CYPRESS, Texas (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — A softball coach in Cypress, Texas, allegedly attacked a 60-year-old grandmother on Saturday, Feb. 16. Donna Edwards recorded a confrontation with a member of the Texas Sting team coaching staff at her granddaughter’s softball game.
Edwards told local media the coach attacked her as she recorded a teenager, who she said is the man’s son, while the teen was cursing and flipping the bird.
Edwards attended the game to watch her granddaughter play for the Texas CF Intruders softball team.
Footage recorded by Edwards shows the teenager making the obscene gesture before the coach rushes through a gate and charges at her.
Edwards said the man tackled her to the ground and tried to take her phone. Her son saw the incident unfold and pulled the coach off of Edwards, she said.
The Texas Sting softball team told local media that the coach has been relieved of his duties.
Edwards filed a report with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office but no charge had been filed at the time of writing.
