Don't like ice breakers? Well, these US Marines did the real thing to test their abilities


BARDUFOSS, Norway (CIRCA) — Apparently, the Marines take ice breakers quite literally.

The U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa, took part in a literal ice-breaking drill in Norway on Monday to test their training, according to the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.

Marines with MRF-E had to sit in freezing waters, attempt to remain calm, and use proper techniques to escape the water. The drill is meant to prepare them in the likelihood that they become trapped on thin ice that breaks.
