Students film chaotic scenes at Denver school during the teacher strike

DENVER (CIRCA via STORYFUL )–Students at a high school in Denver, Colorado, ran rife on Monday, Feb. 11, while thousands of teachers went on strike around the city to protest low wages.

This video shows students dancing to loud music inside East High school while teachers stand on picket lines outside. The student who filmed the footage said she supported her teachers.

Students were encouraged to go to school despite the strikes, which saw more than 2,600 teachers absent on Monday, CBS Denver reported.

Denver teachers are demanding higher salaries, according to CNN. CBS reported Denver Public Schools administrators and teachers would come together on Tuesday to negotiate.
