FREEPORT, Texas (CIRCA) — The Freeport Police Department welcomed its youngest member to the force, as Abigail Rose Arias was sworn in as an honorary officer Thursday.

Abigail, who is 6, took an oath to fight the “bad guys” until she is cancer-free.

Arias has been battling Wilms tumor cancer for the past two years.
