NASSAU, Bahamas (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — Nick Naydev and his friends were banned from ever traveling with Royal Caribbean again after Naydev jumped off their Symphony of the Seas ship while it was docked in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, on Jan. 11.
Naydev posted the video of him jumping from the 11th level of the ship as his friends erupt in laughter. After plummeting more than 100 feet into the ocean, Naydev had to be picked up by a smaller boat that happened to be nearby in order to get back onto the cruise ship.
Naydev wrote on Instagram that he had "never felt more alive" but also mentioned that he "could barely walk for 3 days lol" after he hit the water. According to Naydev’s Instagram comments, local police were called but they did not take action.
In a comment to Storyful regarding the situation, Royal Caribbean spokesman Owen Torres said, "This was stupid and reckless behavior and he and his companions have been banned from ever sailing with us again. We are exploring legal action."
"I just hope I don’t inspire anyone to try this because I don’t want to feel responsible for any injuries."
Naydev and his friends were not only banned from Royal Caribbean cruises for life, but were ejected from the ship and had to find their own way home from the Bahamas, according to reports.
Konstantin Kryachun, a friend of Naydev’s who recorded the incident, said that he did so because he wanted to help his friend go viral. Since accomplishing this goal, Naydev has expressed that he does not want other people to try this stunt, saying, "I just hope I don’t inspire anyone to try this because I don’t want to feel responsible for any injuries."
