MADISON, Ga. (CIRCA) - In a heartwarming video, an 11-month-old baby was able to hear well for the first time with the help of a hearing aid.
The baby's mother, Carol Dianne Benjamin, posted the video on Facebook and explained that her daughter, Scarlet, was born three months early and got necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). The antibiotics needed for the illness caused Scarlet to experience hearing loss.
The mother says they thought Scarlet could hear fairly well before the hearing aid, but the baby's reaction hearing with the help of the device made it clear there was a lot she was missing out on.
"Hearing aids make a WORLD of difference! I am so blessed and thankful for Atlanta Hearing Associates in Mlledgeville for all that they have done for our baby girl," Benjamin posted.
