AFL-CIO rallies with other unions, federal workers to end government shutdown


WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — On day 20 of the partial government shutdown, the AFL-CIO and other unions gathered to push for the end to come soon.

The AFL-CIO hosted the rally outside its building, alongside more than 30 other unions whose members have been affected by the shutdown.

The union has been pushing for the end of the shutdown due to its numerous effects on the public and federal workers.

Along with the federal workers, members of Congress and AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka were expected to attend.
