LOS ANGELES (CIRCA) — Great feminist leaps are being made by pioneering women in the world of cannabis. They could even place women at the forefront of a billion-dollar industry.
On this episode of Cannabis Country, we meet Jessica Assaf, a cannabis activist, entrepreneur and founder of Cannabis Feminist, which allows women to connect and network within the marijuana industry.
What was originally a method to unite women in the cannabis community turned into a safe space to encourage entrepreneurship among women in the field.
As Assaf's mission continues, the field of marijuana is seeing an influx of men throwing their money and voices in.
"There's been a 9-percent decline in female executives in the space, as this becomes more mainstream and more men have come in," Assaf told Circa. "So, it's more important than ever to continue to support female leadership and executives in this new and booming industry."
As the cannabis industry evolves, women are banding together to be leaders in the space—letting it become a model for female leadership in all businesses.
