Watch these cute sea turtles in South Africa get released back to sea

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (Circa via STORYFUL) -- An aquarium in Cape Town, South Africa, released some of its resident sea turtles back into the ocean on Dec. 20.

A video shared to Facebook by Two Oceans Aquarium on Jan. 4 shows members of its team securing tracking devices onto the turtles’ shells in order to monitor their movements after they are released.

According to the post, it released 17 sea turtles into the ocean 20 nautical miles off Cape Point, including two sub-adult green turtles, an adult loggerhead turtle, and 14 juvenile loggerheads.

Their journeys are being documented on the aquarium’s blog, as they follow sea turtle Yoshi, who was released last year after 20 years in rehabilitation.
