LOS ANGELES (CIRCA) — Los Angeles police were in pursuit of a suspect midday Thursday.
CBS Los Angeles reports the suspect was wanted after being accused of assault with a deadly weapon.
At least five police cruisers were chasing the suspect, who was driving at about 25 mph.
Police reportedly attempted at least four pit maneuvers, all of which were unsuccessful.
KTLA reports the suspect's car had damage on the front and back windshields.
The suspect was believed to be driving a maroon Honda sedan. KABC reports that at one point, the vehicle hit a person riding a scooter. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police told KTLA they believed the car chase would end once the suspect ran out of gas or decided to pull over. Eventually, the suspect did pull over his vehicle in San Diego County but he has since barricaded himself inside his vehicle.
