Bob Einstein, actor on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and 'Super Dave Osborne,' dies at 76


ST. LOUIS (CIRCA via KDNL) — Bob Einstein, the comedic actor known for portraying the character of "Super Dave Osborne," and who was also a recurring character on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," has died at the age of 76.

Einstein's brother, actor Albert Brooks, confirmed his death Wednesday afternoon.

Einstein won two Emmy Awards, his first as part of the writing team for "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" in 1969, and his second as a producer for a Dick Van Dyke show, "Van Dyke and Company," in 1977.

He created the satirical stuntman character of "Super Dave Osborne" in the 1970s, and made many appearances on numerous shows as Super Dave, notably on David Letterman's late-night shows.
