WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — SpaceX successfully launched a rocket carrying a U.S. military navigation satellite Sunday morning.
Elon Musk's company is behind the Falcon 9 rocket that took off from Cape Canaveral, Florida carrying the GPS device reported to be worth $500 million. It's the first national security mission to space for the United States. It also marks a success for Musk's company that has been trying to break into the industry of military space launches for years.
The rocket was supposed to launch earlier this week but was delayed several days due to weather issues.
