A couple in Texas raised $1,500 for a homeless man who sells newspapers

WASHINGTON (CIRCA) -- A couple in San Antonio, Texas, decided on Sunday to help spread some Christmas cheer to a man they encounter every day.

Pierce Caldwell shared a video on Facebook of his wife, Amy, bringing $1,500 to a man named Bill, who spends his day selling newspapers at a highway intersection. The couple sees him several times a week selling papers for only a couple of dollars.

“My wife and I raised $1,500 for Bill. Felt great giving it to him. Merry Christmas Bill,” Caldwell posted.

According to a media report, the couple’s initial goal was to raise $100 and they quickly exceeded that.
