ELLISVILLE, Mo. (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — Police in Ellisville, Missouri, released dramatic body camera footage of two police officers saving an elderly couple from a burning home Dec. 9.

The video shows officers responding to the house fire on Hilltop Road in Ellisville.

An elderly woman answers the door as Cpl. Travis Detring, of the Ellisville Police Department, arrives. The officer urges the woman to go outside while he looks for her husband, who she says is still in bed.

Detring searches the home for the man while smoke quickly fills the house from the kitchen. Another officer then arrives, and the two carry the man outside to safety.

Detring’s bodycam, which was knocked to the floor in the bedroom, shows how quickly the room was filled with smoke.
