WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — After "Saturday Night Live" performer Pete Davidson sent out an Instagram post that sounded suicidal, singer Ariana Grande reportedly headed to NBC studios in New York City to check on her ex-fiancé.
But according to TMZ, Davidson received word of her impending visit and told security not to let her in. TMZ reports Grande called mutual friends to tell them she was on her way to check on the comedian. The friends immediately contacted Davidson to give him notice and avoid a surprise encounter.
Davidson's Instagram message said: "i really don't want to be on this earth anymore. i'm doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don't know how much longer i can last."
After seeing this message, Grande tweeted, "I'm downstairs and I'm not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything. I know u have everyone u need and that's not me, but I'm here too."
Fans of Kanye West attacked the comedian on Twitter over the weekend for defending West's recent comments about mental health after making fun of West during an October "SNL" sketch. TMZ reports he was referred to as a hypocrite.
It is unknown what triggered Davidson's post on Saturday.
