ST. LOUIS (CIRCA via STORYFUL) — Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz helped bring a smile to a high school senior awaiting a second double-lung transplant at St. Louis Children’s Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Grammy award-winner Mraz performed a number of songs for 18-year-old Madison Taliaferro, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and received a double-lung transplant six years ago. Madison’s body has rejected her new lungs and she awaits a second double-lung transplant in St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
According to Madison’s mother, Desiree Razak-Taliaferro, the nurses attending to Madison rallied together to get Mraz to sing to her after they found out she loves musicals and singing.
A GoFundMe page set up for Madison has raised over $24,500.
