NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (CIRCA via WJAR) - A Massachusetts woman is turning 110 this month and you can help make her first day as a supercentenarian special.
Irene Miller, of New Bedford, is 109 years young and another birthday is just weeks away.
"I feel good," she told Circa sister station WJAR-TV. "I wish everybody could feel this good."
She has no complaints as she approaches her 110th birthday.
"I’ve been lucky all my life," she said. "I have no problems."
Miller spends her weekdays at an Active Day adult day care center in New Bedford, but lives at home with her grandson.
Aside from some hearing and eyesight troubles, she’s in good health.
And she’s certainly in good spirits.
"Irene is a spectacular person," said Active Day director Shirley Antil.
She is hoping people will send Miller birthday cards to help her celebrate.
"Irene is a light. She just brings happiness to all of us," Antil said.
Other than getting some cards, Miller’s birthday wish is awfully unselfish: "For people to be happy."
Birthday cards can be sent to:
