WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — Police are still looking for the suspects in the murder of a woman just trying to help out.
A 54-year-old woman identified in reports as Jacquelyn Smith was driving with relatives in east Baltimore. According to police, they noticed a woman holding a sign reading, "Please help me feed my baby" while holding what looked to be a baby. They say that Smith rolled down her window to give the woman money. A man then approached the car to say thank you, then lunged for her wallet. The two struggled before the man stabbed Smith in the chest.
The man and the woman who held the sign fled the scene.
Police responded to a local hospital, where Smith succumbed to her injuries despite the efforts of doctors.
Police are still on the hunt for the two suspects involved in her death.
