Marijuana has quite a sticky history, and the plant is set to get its own museum in Los Angeles next year.
Popular dispensary search app Weedmaps announced Friday that it will open the interactive Weedmaps Museum of Weed in early 2019.
The displays will range from art and artifacts to archival footage and interactive exhibits covering marijuana's history and effect on culture.
According to Marijuana.com the museum will have seven exhibits broken up by eras: Pre-Prohibition, Reefer Madness, Counterculture, Just Say No, Dose of Compassion, Legalization, and The Plant.
“In our company’s 10-year history, education and advocacy have always been at the root of our mission,” Doug Francis, Weedmaps’ co-founder and CEO told the site.
“The hope is that visitors can understand the history of cannabis and learn a bit more about the exciting future that lies ahead.”
