#MeToo finally killed 'Baby it's Cold Outside' — at least for one radio station

CLEVELAND (CIRCA via WSYX/WTTE) — A Cleveland radio station has decided to stop playing "Baby, it's Cold Outside" after listeners say the song has predatory undertones amid the #MeToo movement.

FOX 8 Cleveland reports WDOK Star 102.1 pulled the song from its rotation after receiving a call from a listener who suggested it is inappropriate.

The song, written in the 1940s, is a duet featuring a woman who insists she must leave a man's home, but he repeatedly tries to lure her into staying.

“I really can’t stay,” she sings, to which the man responds, “but baby, it’s cold outside.”

FOX 8 reported that the radio station said its listeners made the decision not to play the song. However, a poll on the station's Facebook page showed over 90 percent of people saying the tune is a classic.
