WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — A dog in Norton, Ohio, had to be rescued by firefighters called to the scene.

The dog was stuck after running through an icy pond and falling into the water that was above the ice surface. The dog was eventually taken away by a firefighters as onlookers cheered on the animal saying "good girl."

It is unknown how the dog ended up outside in what looks to be a snowy environment, according to the video. Norton Fire Division posted the video on their Facebook page and it has received over 40,000 views.

"This afternoon we were called for a dog through the ice on a pond. This is always very dangerous, as the pet owners will always attempt to rescue their pet, understandably. They are family! Today had a great outcome for all involved!!" the fire division said in their post.
