NEW YORK (CIRCA) — Two spray-painted swastikas were found inside the office of a Jewish professor and Holocaust scholar at Columbia Teachers College on Wednesday.
The NYPD is investigating the possible hate crime. This would be the second time Elizabeth Midlarsky has been a victim of a hate crime, according to WABC.
“I was so shaky, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it,” Midlarsky told CNN.

It seems that we are learning of a new incident of hate every day & this is yet another sad, scary occurrence. pic.twitter.com/GQ2xye1Vp5
“We unequivocally condemn any expression of hatred, which has no place in our society. We are outraged and horrified by this act of aggression and use of this vile anti-Semitic symbol against a valued member of our community,” Thomas Bailey, president of the college, said in a statement.
