WASHINGTON (CIRCA) — A man in the mezzanine of Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre yelled "Heil Hitler!" among pro-President Donald Trump statements during a performance of "Fiddler on the Roof" on Wednesday, according to a member of the audience.
Rich Scherr posted a video of the reactions on Facebook. The 49-year-old told The Baltimore Sun that people started running, and he feared the start of a shooting. He added to those commenting on the video that the man was escorted out of the theater.
"Fiddler on the Roof" is a musical centered on a Jewish family trying to maintain their heritage and values throughout persecution from Russia. The original show was written in 1964. The performance at the Hippodrome opened this week.
The incident comes just a few weeks after a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue, where 11 were killed in an act of violent Anti-Semitism.
