WASHINGTON (Circa) — Lady Gaga attempted to brighten the day of California wildfire evacuees by surprising them with pizza on Tuesday.
The superstar posted a picture of herself carrying 11 boxes of fresh pizza set to be delivered to a Red Cross evacuation center. In the photo, she is also wearing a Malibu hat to represent one of the many areas in the state that has been affected by the wildfires which killed at least 50 people. She captioned the picture "fresh hot pizza, coffee and gift cards for the shelter."
In a separate Instagram post, she wrote, "Today is my favorite day of the year—it's World Kindness Day. I encourage you all to do one act of kindness even if it's for yourself."
As part of her mission to be kind, Gaga spent 90 minutes taking pictures and passing out gift cards to evacuees who were displaced and stayed at Pacific Palisades High School according to The Daily Mail. The publication also reports one of the highlights of her visit happened when she sang to a 98-year-old woman who was evacuated from her home.
Lady Gaga has been affected by the wildfires in her own right. On Friday, she was forced to evacuate her home in Malibu as her house was surrounded by smoke and fire. The Woosley Fire, which affected her ability to stay at home, has reportedly destroyed more than 96,000 acres of land.
