Virginia Republican accused of writing 'Bigfoot erotica' wins House seat

WASHINGTON (CIRCA) - Republican Denver Riggleman won the U.S. House of Representatives seat in Virginia’s 5th District by 7 points in Tuesday's midterm elections. But that's not the only reason he's making headlines.

The GOP member has also been accused of writing "Bigfoot erotica." He is the author of the book "Mating Habits of Bigfoot and Why Women Want Him."

His book was first exposed when his opponent, Democrat Leslie Cockburn, tweeted about the book cover in July.

She wrote, "[Riggleman] has been exposed as a devotee of Bigfoot erotica. This is not what we need on Capitol Hill."

Riggleman defended himself by tweeting, "I wrote a book about Bigfoot believers. Bigfoot pics by military bubbas are meant to be funny."

He went on to say he didn't know what “Bigfoot Erotica” was until Cockburn mentioned it.
