WASHINGTON (CIRCA) - Kentucky Republican Rep. Andy Barr defended his seat against ex-Marine Corps pilot Amy McGrath in Tuesday's election.

The race was considered one of the most hard-fought in the country. Barr has held the seat since 2013, while the midterm was McGrath's first run for political office.

McGrath's flashy campaign ad featuring her experience as a fighter pilot catapulted her into the political spotlight.
