SAN FRANCISCO (CIRCA) - During the Oakland Raiders game Thursday night, a San Francisco 49ers cheerleader took a knee during the national anthem.
NBC Bay Area reporter Damian Trujillo took a picture while it happened and posted it on social media.
The woman has not yet been identified.
This marks the first time an NFL cheerleader has joined former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s protest against racial injustice.
Kaepernick began kneeling during "The Star-Spangled Banner" in 2016 to take a stand against police brutality.
Many conservatives, including President Donald Trump, have found this disrespectful to military veterans.
