Suspicious package found at California Democratic Party headquarters deemed safe

WASHINGTON (Circa) – California Democratic Party confirmed on social media that they received a suspicious package in the mail on Wednesday.

Later in the day, law enforcement officials deemed the package wasn't dangerous and allowed people to return to the building.

The party, whose headquarters are located in Sacramento, says it immediately reported the package to police "out of an abundance of caution."

"We have evacuated our headquarters building as a safety precaution, and law enforcement is presently addressing the situation," the party said in a tweet.

This latest panic comes after suspicious packages have been delivered to prominent Democratic figures such as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Cory Booker and others.

Cesar Sayoc was arrested last week after being identified as the culprit for multiple pipe bombs that were sent to some of President Trump's critics. Sayoc was a huge Trump devotee who was seen in recently revealed video at a Florida rally in which the President was speaking. He was seen holding a sign that stated "CNN sucks."
