SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (CIRCA) - A touching moment was caught on home surveillance cameras last weekend.

A boy was tossing a football up in the air, by himself, in his front yard when a Summerville Police officer pulled over and began to play with him.

The boy's parent's were so touched by the kind act that they send the footage to the police station, along with a text message conveying their gratitude for the nice gesture:

"My son was throwing the football up to himself in the yard and your officer noticed and stopped to play for a couple minutes. This made my son's day and I wanted this officer to know.... he rocks!!!"
Boy's parents, via text to the Summerville Police Department

The Summerville Police Department shared the cute story on its Facebook page. In a few days, it's been viewed almost 50,000 times.
