WASHINGTON (Circa) — Police in Baytown, Texas are facing backlash after a video went viral of officers appearing to go "too far" making an arrest outside a bar.
The video appears to show officers arresting a female outside the bar when another officer and bystander get into a confrontation. The officer and the woman get into a fight that results in phones being thrown to the ground. When a third individual appears to reach for the phones, he also is subdued by an officer.
Some online are saying the police went too far, especially by smashing phones. Others say that the citizens in the video were clearly not complying. Police told local media that before the video started, the group seemed intoxicated and were acting uncooperative.
