WASHINGTON (Circa) – An inflatable giant colon used to teach about the dangers of colon cancer was stolen in Kansas City, Kansas.
The University of Kansas Cancer Center said in a news release that the giant colon was stolen in Brookside.
WKMG reported that the 10-foot-long inflatable is worth $4,000.
Surgical oncologist John Ashcraft told WKMG that the 150 pound inflatable colon is used to better express the topic of colon cancer and can be used as way to start a conversation.
The Cancer Coalition owns the inflatable colon and ships it across the United States to share information on colon cancer.
It is estimated that one in 20 people will be diagnosed with colon l cancer, according to WKMG.
