WASHINGTON (Circa) – A student pilot and instructor made an emergency landing in a small plane on Friday in San Diego County, California.
According to the CHP, the aircraft experienced engine trouble during a flying a lesson, causing the instructor to take over the controls and land the plane on Interstate 8’s westbound lanes near Second Street in El Cajon.
Two lanes were shut down as officials investigated the scene, KABC reported.
Officials say no injuries occurred during the incident and no vehicles were struck.
According to KABC, the plane also appeared to be intact.
