Florida driver blows through intersection, crashes into police cruiser head-on

SARASOTA, Fl. (Circa) — Two police officers in Sarasota, Florida were hit head-on a minivan driver on Friday.

Police say the driver told them he lost control of his vehicle on wet roads.

The Sarasota Police Department posted a video of the incident that showed the driver speeding through the intersection while making a right turn before sliding into the other side of the road where he hit the cruiser head-on.

Officials say no one was hurt during the crash.

The driver was charged with "unknowingly driving while his license was suspended, failure to use a designated lane, improper right turn and not wearing a seat belt."

"Folks, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Please drive safely & always buckle up," the department said.
