WASHINGTON (Circa) — Drake Walker was recently diagnosed with an aggressive and inoperable cancerous brain stem tumor, according to the Torrance Police Department.

His dream has always been to be a police officer and on Wednesday the police department made his wish came true. Walker, who is the son of another officer - Sergeant Jim Walker, was sworn in by the city of Torrance, California.

Members of the community are currently raising money for the Walker family to help out during their time of need.

"The Walkers are an amazing family full of love, dedication and service. Jim serves as a Sergeant with the Torrance Police Department, and Leslie serves families as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Taryn, James and Gigi are Drake’s adorable and amazing siblings," the GoFundMe page says. "We hope to bless them in this monetary way to ease even a tiny bit of burden they might face along their journey AND memories of fun that will last forever."
