High school student accused of serving cookies containing grandparent's cremains

DAVIS, Calif. (WKRC) - Police are investigating after a high school student allegedly made cookies containing an unsettling special ingredient, reports KOVR-TV in Sacramento, California.

According to student testimony, two DaVinci High School students were part of a morbid plan to bake and distribute sugar cookies -- with one student's grandparent's cremated remains inside.

Police say the treats were handed out to at least nine students and while they're still working to confirm the claims, they'll also have to figure out what crime was committed.

"This is so unconventional it would take more research," Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov told KOVR.

He added, "I have not heard of anyone getting sick or anybody being harmed as far as physically, physiologically by this."

The cookies have not been tested yet.
