WASHINGTON (Circa) — Hillary Clinton said in an interview on Sunday that former President Clinton was right not to resign after his scandal with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
When asked by CBS “Sunday Morning” if Bill Clinton should have resigned, Hillary Clinton exclaimed “Absolutely not.”
Clinton denied that her husband’s relationship with the then 22-year-old intern should be considered an abuse of power.
“It wasn't an abuse of power?” CBS News correspondent Tony Dokoupil asked.
Clinton responded: “No. No.”
The former Secretary of State also mentioned how her husband’s scandal resulted in an investigation and asked where the investigation of current President Donald Trump is.
She then stated how she believes the decision had a positive outcome.
“So, there was an investigation of President Clinton, and it, as I believe, came out in the right place."
