This year, the zoo is offering two new types of tours to help visitors get behind the scenes with their favorite animals. The "Zoo Bites" tour allows foodies to help prepare the animals' snacks for the day as well as learn all about their vet-approved nutrition plans. Those who love trivia can take the guided "Insider's Tour" to learn animal facts with an expert while getting to handle props like polar bear fur and flamingo feathers.
The Maryland Zoo is the third oldest zoo in America, and home to more than 1,500 animals.
