LOS ANGELES (Circa) -- Southern California's oldest theme park is turning nightmares into reality for the 46th year.

Knott's Scary Farm kicked off the Halloween season on Sept. 20 with 14 haunted attractions including all new mazes, scare zones, and shows.

Unlike other theme park Halloween attractions, this park's scares aren't based on horror movies or TV shows. Instead, Knott's Scary Farm relies on a team of creative designers to craft unique and unpredictable horrors. Check out their newest mazes below.

Knott's Scary Farm, The Depths

"THE DEPTHS"

The tunnel into The Depths maze is where visitors descend into an underground cave to search for a missing mining crew. Villagers say no man has ever resurfaced from there.

Knott's Scary Farm, Forsaken Lake

"FORSAKEN LAKE"

A new unearthly scare zone has emerged from the lake beneath Silver Bullet as mysterious creatures have awakened from their crypts to drag unsuspecting victims to their watery graves in Forsaken Lake.

Knott's Scary Farm, Dark Entities

"DARK ENTITIES"

Teleport beyond earth and into the darkness of deep space where an extraterrestrial mutation has invaded the station and is on the prowl for new hosts.

Knott's Scary Farm is open on select dates now through October 31.
