Geoffrey Owens tapped for second acting gig since his viral Trader Joe's photo

WASHINGTON (Circa) - Geoffrey Owens' grocery-bagging days look to be coming to an end.

The former "Cosby Show" actor has landed a guest role on "NCIS: New Orleans." He'll play Commander Adams, a friend of Scott Bakula's character Dwayne Pride. Earlier this month, Owens also accepted a role on Tyler Perry's "The Haves and Have Nots."

Owens, known for playing Elvin Tibideaux on "The Cosby Show," was shamed when a photo was taken of him bagging groceries as an employee at Trader Joe's. The actor has also played roles in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "That's So Raven," and "Lucifer."

Following the photo, Owens appeared on "Good Morning America" to discuss the support he's received since the photos were released.
