Cheyenne, Wyo. (Circa) -- Country music legend Charlie Daniels is frustrated with Congress, specifically term limits.
"When our founders put our federal papers together, its obvious it wasn't meant for career politicians", he said, "the mere idea of being represented, is being represented by someone who knows what the hell is going on now. Not forty years ago."
The 81-year-old talented instrumentalist is well known for his hit songs "Simple Man" and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" still tours regularly.
Circa sat down Daniels talked politics and rodeo with Circa at Cheyenne Frontier Days, a celebration of American Western culture in July.
Daniels is very vocal and open about his political views, often posting about issues facing political leaders in Washington, D.C. on his blog and Twitter.
Democrats and Republicans keep sending the same bunch of jaded, self serving politicians to Washington term after term and expecting a different result.— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) August 25, 2018
One of the definitions of insanity.
"The way they are it's like two old bulls. Once in a while, bulls will get into it and just get out there and butt heads, and neither one of them wins." Daniels said. "Same thing with the Congress and Senate. They get in and they fight and they carry on. They can't get anything done"
